Wednesday 11/23:
Woke up at around 6:35 am to head home on Wednesday. For breakfast I had the Clif maple nut bar which I been dying to try. It was not too bad but I think I still prefer the white chocolate macadamia nut. I also took an extra banana for while on the road. It’s just easier to peel and eat.
The drive was not too terrible. Allan and I split; I started and he finished. I was getting tired during the halfway point so he took over and I took a nap. How awesome is that? When we got home, my dad, brother, Allan and I went out to lunch. After, we went back home because my mom had already finished work. I gave her a bunch of goodies and she gave me some organic lollipops, white chocolate lollipop and spelt cookies! My mom was told that if you are allergic to wheat that you could have spelt in small doses. I did look it up and it was true, however, if you are allergic to gluten then stay away from the spelt. I am very excited to try these out!
My dad cooked a late dinner which was super yummy! I had rice, potatoes, chicken, spinach and plantains. There is nothing like home cooking! I was enjoying it too much that I forgot le photograph. My apologies! For dessert, I had some Lindt dark chocolate truffles. These are just too good! They kind of remind me of mousse. Mousse… yum!
Thursday 11/24:
Happy Turkey Day! On Thanksgiving, I had a banana and a gluten-free “peanut butter” banana muffin. Good start to the day so far! For lunch we had breakfast so I ended up having a hard-boiled egg on top of half a millet and flax-seed bagel along with some grapes.
I made my traditional “healthy cupcakes” aka using applesauce instead of oil. I used the Arrowhead Mill’s gluten-free chocolate cake and a regular yellow cake too.
I also made a surprise for Allan to celebrate his birthday early. Each cupcake had a hidden chocolate underneath the frosting.
Here are the cupcakes for everyone else! Aren’t they too cute with the little leaf? The secret to these cupcakes are applesauce! Each cupcakes was around 150 calories with the frosting. Can’t get any better than that, can it?
The masterpiece was finally complete! Took around 4-5 hours.
My mom didn’t want to cut it because it looked too pretty but I helped her out, as you can see.
Here is my plate of food for the evening…okay well I had two of the exact same thing. It was yellow rice with peas, turkey, bread rolls that I made from Bob’s Red Mill pizza crust mix and broccoli.
My cupcake! It had a Lindt white chocolate inside. Okay well I had two of these. The sweets kind of killed me for the day.
Friday 11/25:
I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving with loved ones! The next day I hung out with my mom and we saw Twilight in the movies! It was actually better than I expected. Yes, I call all of the parts Twilight. We then went to have lunch at Applebee’s and I got this garlic roasted steak with potatoes and a creamed spinach. It was part of their under 550 and I only ate half anyway.
For dessert I had the chocolate mousse shooter sans the Oreo pieces and whip cream. I had a square of dark chocolate so I crushed it and topped the mousse. After shopping, we went back home because I had to pack up the car to go back home. Of course dinner was leftover turkey. The exact same plate I had for Thanksgiving, but only one this time!
It was nice being home and seeing my family. There is a bit of news I do need to share with you but that will have to wait til tomorrow. Until then I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday. It is now time to do some serious detoxing…
