Fun Finds Friday #2: Coconut Much?

08 Jun

When summer rolls around, I become obsessed with coconut. Maybe the Puerto Rican in me kicks into high gear when the weather raises above 75 degrees. I just crave coconut, I don’t know how else to put it. For this week’s Fun Finds Friday, I have for you three coconut snacks that you will just love! I liked all of them but the last one… oh you’ll just have to read on now won’t you?The Luna Chocolate Dipped Coconut Bar was a must for summer season. A bar and full of coconut and chocolate? Why not! Now how did it taste? It was pretty good but not as good as it sounded. I think I’ll just stick to candy that’s coconut and chocolate as oppose to a granola bar. My favorite Luna Bars so far are Lemon Zest and Chocolate Peppermint Stick. And of course the Luna Protein Bar collection rocks!

Emmy’s vegan, raw and gluten-free coconut vanilla macaroons were too cute to pass up. Plus, I miss having cookies. They were $2.95 (basically $1.00 per macaroon) so I opted this to be my treat of the week. The taste results? Simply divine. I think this might be my treat for every week. All natural ingredients, 50 calories per macaroon and 2 grams of fiber? Sold! I’ll be looking to try their other flavors like chocolate or chocolate orange.

I saved the best for last for this post. I love coconut. Okay, I think you already get that but in ice cream form takes the love to a whole other level. This Coconut Bliss Naked Coconut Bar was another must, especially because it was a pretty hot day and I wanted something cold and creamy.Gluten and dairy free? Yes please! Now for the taste results… Simply irresistible. I didn’t want the creamy coconut goodness to end. Each bar (sold separately) was $1.69. Not bad if you want a delicious cold treat on a hot summer’s day. For 170 calories and 2 grams of fiber per bar? This means a new favorite cold treat for me with this one!

This has got to be one of my favorite weeks of the FFF. Okay, I know it’s only been the second post, but still. I’m a sucker for all things coconut. Alright. I’ll stop professing my love. I’m sure it has become quite irritating.

Question: Do you have a specific love for something when the season brings your mood for it?
Pumpkin and McIntosh apples are a must for the fall and anything peppermint is definitely called for during the winter season.

Coconut Bliss is also sold by the pint in containers and you can buy a pack of 4 bars of them sold together. The Dark Chocolate coconut is sooooo good!
