Did I ever tell you that I love food? But food can easily turn into my enemy because I can get tired of it very quickly. This week’s edition of WIAW is all about sweets. I’ve been on a mission to create new sweet recipes, whether breakfast, snacks or desserts.
Check out some of the delicious things I have been eating this week. You might just get a little jealous. And hey, if you don’t know what What I Ate Wednesday is, check it out at Peas and Crayons.
Breakfast #1: Ohh I was so in the mood for crepes. I don’t know why, but I wanted me some blueberries too. I didn’t really feel like rolling up the crepes, so I plopped some cashew coconut crème, threw some blueberries on top and drizzled with a little maple syrup. Delish!
Breakfast #2: Wow! I am in love with my french toast recipe. I did an “unstuffed” french toast (only half a serving) topping with blueberry maple syrup (not blended). I can’t decide between the two blueberry breakfast goodness. I think I am going to make an apple french toast next with “baked” apple topping.
Snack: Quick and easy granola bars. My mom had sent me a package of Bear Naked Granola and I wanted to do something fun with it. I found a recipe online that uses granola to make a granola bar versus uncooked oats. It came out way better and it actually tasted similar to Odwalla’s Sweet N’ Salty bar.
Dinner: Okay, I had to include one savory meal. Or maybe I didn’t. Either way, this is one of my favorite quick meals; burger, roasted potatoes and broccoli. Pair it with an orange; so so good!
Dessert? Some dark chocolate mousse made from Ghirardelli’s Sea Salt Soiree. I wanted something different and this was! The texture was crunchy with the almond pieces floating around. But I much rather prefer the simply dark chocolate goodness.
And for the winner of the mini breakfast giveaway, is Skyler J! I used Random.Org to get the winner. Just email your address (nutritiouslysweet@gmail.com) so I can mail it out Friday!
Happy WIAW friends!
