It’s Monday! Where is my current eating at?
I’m going back to my post weight loss roots; clean eating. It’s basic, simple and pretty much what I do already. A few people “shunned” me for eating meat. Not that I was sad about it, but I knew what I was doing. I was trying out Paleo and fixing my anemia. I don’t have to explain myself, why should I? I’m just being me.
Okay, enough of that, let’s go into the eats. For breakfast I start with these oats or Cascadian Farm’s fruit and nut granola. I either use coconut milk or low-fat milk, depends on my budget. Always with a pear, because that fruit is the only one that feels good in my stomach.
Then for snack, depending on how large was breakfast I may not need one. But usually it’s another pear with almonds. Lunch? I stick to something starchy like a wrap or a bit of rice and beans. Usually a salad is involved, maybe some nuts or sunflower seeds too. Then either chicken or raw cheddar cheese as my protein.
Second snack, is usually some more nuts or another fruit. On occasion I’ll do either a coffee, string cheese, a vanilla almond Luna bar or Greek yogurt.
Then for dinner I like to always do meat. Like last night was a burger with spring mix salad and some almonds. For dessert, I’ll do a couple of chocolates or if I’m really craving dessert; a protein cake.
This is pretty much what I was doing all last year except now I don’t do as much carbs at night or in general for that matter thanks to Paleo. Heartburn is still under control and my fat intake averages around 65-80g (even though I should be at 50-60g). Oh and cholesterol is good and in check too! Look, it’s kitty!
Question: Ever get those people that are always going to criticize you and never give you any positive feed back? Being in the social media world, I do get that especially from YouTube. But at the end of the day, if you are happy… that’s all that matters.

Can’t you tell.. that green in my favorite color? Well from this What I Ate Wednesday, trust me, you’ll notice. From spinach, to pears, to pumpkin seeds to even green wrappers. Oh it’s not easy being green. Oh and if you don’t know what WIAW is, check it out at Peas and Crayons!
Breakfast: I did a protein cake using this recipe (the vegan one). I added an egg white to it, which made it non-vegan of course. I topped it with pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, raisins and a maple syrup drizzle. Yes that is a string cheese, don’t ask. Just try it you dare.
Snack: More seeds, nuts and mulberries plus a pear and light cheese!
Lunch: More yummy salads. I don’t think I can get enough of salads these days.
Snack: A Stonyfield Greek yogurt, plus a toasted nuts n’ cranberry Luna bar at some other point in the day. Gotta love my protein.
Dinner: A rice, veggie and egg white bowl. Only took a few minutes and it was so, so good.
Dessert? I’ve been doing this “mess” a lot of some base (today it was a mini chocolate protein cookie), yogurt, whip cream, seeds, raisins and maple syrup drizzle. As you can tell, I have been in a layering mood. Not to mention, every meal has something green!
Question: Have you ever had a day where the same color is in every meal? I’ve totally outdone myself.

Food makes me happy. I don’t know about you but a yummy piece of organic cheese or a delicious bowl or soymilk and maple granola just puts a smile on my face.
As usual, before going back to Massachusetts, my mom took me grocery shopping at my favorite supermarket, Fairway. I got a few different things then normal, but yet still very tasty looking.
For the pantry stuff I got, some teas, soymilk, buckwheat products, granola, Justin’s almond butter, beans and a couple Luna bars. Expect a “buckwheat” fun finds Friday. I got a ton of things with that.
For the fridge/ produce, I got Earth Balance, gala and red delicious apples, pears, organic mozzarella and cheddar cheese and a So Delicious coconut milk plain yogurt.
Lastly the freezer items were some Applegate products, baby Brussels sprouts and Alexia oven fries.
Oh can’t forget some sweets! I’ve been into coffee (as you may have remember) and got this espresso dark chocolate from Newman’s Own Organic.
Also some So Delicious coconut milk no sugar added ice cream. Mmm, butter pecan!
Oh and I got the last bit of goodies for the giveaway (don’t forget to enter).
Question: Any foods you’ve just gotten hooked on? Coffee is definitely the first things that comes to my mind. How about you?

Hello everyone! I am back in MA. Time to study like a mad dog as I have an exam tomorrow and a final in two weeks. Then soon will be Christmas break! I can’t wait, but until then, I shall recap my weekend at home.
My parents and I on Saturday night went to the Broadway Comedy Club in the city. My parents had never been to one and they had tickets that I gave them earlier this year. When we got there, I had to get my age verified. Pish for looking like a teenager, it’s quite annoying.
Any who, we went to eat before the comedy show, which started at 8:30pm. We ate at the Peking Roast Duck.
I ate beef and broccoli with rice. It was so good, I gobbled it up!
Then it was show time. They had a nice drink selection (they had a two drink minimum). I ended up getting a white zinfandel and my mom took my second drink. It was a really nice time with my parents; some drinks and a few good laughs is always good.
Being home for the past few days was amazing. It was nice to just unwind with my family. I haven’t been home for almost two months. The nice image of a full fridge and pantry always makes me happy. Thanks to my mom, I am able to have that.
Tons of good stuff here. I got the usual’s; fruit, beans, bars, chocolate. I also got a new So Delicious milk to try, an English muffin, Amy’s GF Pizza, a chocolate chip cookie mix and a couple of new bars. This Friday I should have a review on a few of those.
Things that I have on hand already are chicken breast, oats, tomato soup, tomatoes, rice and flour. I think this should last me for quite sometime, which the exception of maybe getting eggs and more fruits/ veggies. I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving weekend like I did.
Question: How do you do your grocery shopping? Once per week? Twice? I usually go twice or three times, but I am thinking of nipping it to one time. It may save money on impulse spending. Thoughts?

Wednesday has arrived! Not only is it another edition of WIAW, but it is also Halloween! Happy Halloween to all (and hope my family enjoys their sweets, whenever they get it). Hope you are going to eat lots no candy and be a “healthy” person.
Okay, who are we kidding? Munch away! In moderation, of course. For this What I Ate Wednesday, I’ll be showing you a mix of my Saturday and Sunday eats. If you don’t know what WIAW is, go check out the party over at Peas and Crayons!
Breakfast: I had a maple almond butter “muffin top” sandwich (plus a banana). I just cut the muffin top in half and added a heaping spoon of Trader Joe’s raw & crunchy almond butter. My new favorite breakfast!
Snack: Luna Vanilla Almond bar. Totally my new favorite Luna bar, but very hard to find sometimes!
Lunch: Vegetarian Times ultimate vegan chili with brown rice, plantains and broccoli. I didn’t add the spicy factor to it, which made it perfect for me.
Snack: Organic Yogurt from Trader Joe’s
Dinner: Garlic Baked Tofu w/ Broccoli and Brown Rice. I’m on a rice kick lately apparently. I’m also entering week two of eating only vegetarian. Lovin’ it!
Dessert: Chocolate mousse (using tofu). Rich, creamy, chocolate-y and delicious!
Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween! I am at work for today but maybe I will treat myself to some pumpking froyo or pumpkin spice truffles from Godiva. Yum!
Question: How are you celebrating Halloween?

Happy Sunday!
Last night I went to hang out with my roomie and the girls in Boston. It was fun and a nice change of pace for me since I am a party girl what so ever. I went dressed up as a “Victoria Secret” Angel. This Hot for Halloween was definitely a challenge for me, but I managed to succeed!
Meal Planning:
I got a little lazy and didn’t feel like doing the meal planning in a chart, so I just decided to do a general break down of the meals into breakfasts, lunches/ dinners and snacks for this week.
Breakfasts:
- Maple Almond Butter “Muffin Top” Sandwich (w/ almond butter in middle)
- Waffles w/ Raspberries & Almond Butter
- Maple Oat Banana Pancakes w/ Almond Butter
Lunches/ Dinners:
- Garlic Baked Tofu w/ Veggies & Baked Potato
- Fruit & Cheese Platter
- “Not So” Chili w/ Brown Rice & Baked Plantain
- Trader Joe’s GF Pizza w/ Spinach
Snacks!
- Luna Bars (courtesy of a friend)
- Stonyfield Organic Yogurt
- String Cheese & Almonds
- Pears or Apples
- Wasa Cracker w/ Hard-Boiled Egg
I’m off to do some ready for homework then possibly going out to lunch with roomie and other peoples. Enjoy your Sunday every one!

It isn’t a secret that I love bars. They are just quick, easy and quite yummy. I’ve done other bar reviews for Fun Finds Friday like in FFF#1 and FFF#4. For this Friday, I am going to be review three bars I’ve recently tried; a protein bar, a fiber bar and a “mix of both” bar.
Fit ‘n Crisp by Promax: This protein bar resembles a rice crispy treat. The last time I ate one of those was sophomore year of college. I was a rice crispy addict, so I was excited to relive my fun college days.
This bar has 13 grams of protein at only 140 calories. But how bout the taste? Exactly like a rice crispy treat, but it did have a little after taste (nothing major). I would definitely get the bar again (Warning: not labeled gluten-free and has a tiny bit of corn derivatives) and it’s also available in cinnamon crunch.
Luna Fiber Bar in Chocolate Raspberry: I’ve already tried the vanilla blueberry flavor, which was absolutely delicious. I spotted the chocolate raspberry and wanted to give it a try.
For 110 calories it has 7 grams of fiber. Taste wise? It was pretty good but not as good as the vanilla blueberry. Most likely I won’t be getting this flavor again. I would have loved the try the peanut butter, except for the tiny fact that I am allergic. Hey Luna, make more flavors please
Clif Bar in Iced Gingerbread: The white chocolate macadamia Clif bar will always be number one to me. Since it’s the holidays Clif has seasonal flavors; pumpkin spice, chocolate peppermint and iced gingerbread. The pumpkin spice was okay, so I was hoping the iced gingerbread was better.
For 250 calories it has 5 grams of fiber and 9 grams of protein. I had it one of my more hectic days, where I need that “extra.” Call me weird, but I drizzled a tiny bit of maple syrup on it and it tasted like Christmas. I will definitely get this flavor again. And if you haven’t already, try out all of their seasonal flavors.
Question: Don’t you love when companies throw out seasonal flavors or items? Now if only Chobani would do a pumpkin Greek yogurt, and I’d be set!

Happy Friday everyone! It’s Friday and that means another fun finds post. For this week I have a couple of bars as well as a bread and nut butter find to share with you all.
Vanilla Blueberry Luna Fiber Bar: One word to describe this? DELICIOUS! This bar reminded me of Kashi’s cereal bars that I loved so much. The stats? 110 calories and 7g of fiber. Since it lacks in protein (1g), I topped with some almond butter. You must find it and try it! Remember, if you have a severe corn allergy, I wouldn’t recommend it as it has vegetable glycerin (aka corn derivative).
Kit’s Organic Fruit & Nut Bar in Chocolate Almond Coconut: Now, I was hesitant to buy this bar because the ingredients were similar to a Larabar, which I don’t like. And unfortunately, I was right. It tasted like a combo of a chocolate and coconut Lara Bar. You could guess that I really didn’t like the taste but if you like Larabars, you just might like these bars.
Once Again’s Sunflower Butter: I decided to try out this brand of sunflower butter since the other one I tried was pretty good. This one tasted pretty similar except the flavor was just too strong for my taste. Ahh, sunflower butter is just not as delicious as almond or cashew butter. But if you’re a sunflower butter fan, give it a try.
Rudi’s Original Sandwich Bread: Okay, this was my favorite find of all four. This bread tastes EXACTLY like you’re regular sandwich bread. I was overjoyed when I tried it. I do love Food For Life’s sandwich bread, but it just didn’t taste the same as the regular ones made with wheat.
I simply just toasted it and topped it with some creamy butter and parsley flakes. It was absolute heaven. I know, I am talking about a slice of bread, but having a wheat and corn allergy makes it hard to find a good bread that tastes “normal.” I am so buying this again and can’t wait to try some of their other products.
Have you found any interesting products lately?
And are you a Lara bar fan? I just don’t like them (except something the coconut cream pie is okay), even though I know a million people do.

The first What I Ate Wednesday of October. Isn’t it crazy how time flies? Here are my eats from yesterday aka Tuesday aka school day. I had an exam, so snacking was a huge must for the day. If you don’t know what WIAW is, check it out over at Peas and Crayons!
Breakfast: My first taste of pumpkin for the season. I whipped up a couple batches of pumpkin spice pancakes. They were absolutely delicious and I wish breakfast was 24/7. I could so eat these all day. Instead of graham cracker crumbs, I topped it with almond butter and some maple glazed almonds. Mmm.
Snack: I munched on a banana and a Stonyfield yogurt, while I was studying for my exam.
Lunch: I went with a chicken burger topped with half of a Babybel cheese, sauteed green beans and black beans. I definitely needed the staying power for the long drive to school, plus more studying.
Snack: A few nuts and string cheese to continue my studying adventures.
Dinner: I had a fruit and cheese platter for dinner because I had school and I like to munch throughout the whole four hours. I mean, it can get boring, so I rather have small things to pick at rather than one large meal. Quick, easy and yummy!
Dessert? Something quite different from the normal. I had a Luna bar to satisfy that sweet salty craving from the fruit and cheese plate.
How about you? When you have to study do you prefer big meals or snacking throughout?
I’m definitely a snacker. Munchy, munchy :)
