Sami’s Bakery: The Secret Package

A few days ago I did “A Day In The Life Of” video showing one of my random days. It included errands, making chocolate mousse, my current workout routine and a secret package! This package was from none other than Sami’s Bakery. My mom had ordered me a bunch of things so I can enjoy bread again. Mmmm, carbs!

Here is my review of the products that I purchased. If you have any questions on any of the products mentioned, please feel free to leave a comment below. Enjoy!

Millet and Flax Pizza Crust by Sami’s Bakery

I initially wasn’t going to get this pizza crust. Why you may ask? Well I felt like I was cheating on the Bobs Red Mill Gluten-Free Pizza Crust Mix. But I am glad I bought the crust because, shh don’t tell Bob, but this one was better! I will still get Bob’s one, no doubt, but I want more and more of Sami’s pizza crust. There is more fiber and my favorite? Less sodium!

Millet and Flax Sliced Bread by Sami’s Bakery

I haven’t found a sliced bread that I could actually eat. All those good ones I have found have corn. Totally not fair! Now I can finally eat a turkey and cheddar sandwich again. Below is the best lunch I have had in months, no lie. I just don’t know what it is about a sandwich with chips and fresh fruit. You may ask… all this for a sandwich? Yes, I know, I am quite strange.

Millet Sourdough Bagels by Sami’s Bakery

Of course you know I bought the millet and flax-seed bagels. Those are what introduced me to Sami’s Bakery to begin with. I decided to get some sourdough ones. I use to love sourdough bread and now I can have some again. They were pretty good, but I much rather prefer the millet and flax ones. I’m glad I can enjoy one of my favorite breakfasts of a hardboiled egg and grapes on them. Yum!

Millet and Flax Sun-dried Tomato Lavash by Sami’s BakeryA lavash to me is like a cross between a wrap and a pita. It’s not as thin as a wrap, but not so thick either. It’s just right to me. I was a bit skeptical about trying a sun-dried tomato flavor since I never tried it before in wheat form. Every time I smelled them at the supermarket, it smelled like a pizzeria. Why not try em’ right?

I had half as a snack with some mozzarella cheese and basil sprinkled inside. It was delicious and filling! The tomato flavor just added a nice “pizza” flare. I would so get these again! The only thing I’m wondering about is the fiber count. It says half a lavash is 10 grams of fiber! I just think that’s crazy, but perhaps I should shoot them an email one of these days and ask.

Millet and Flax Hamburger Buns by Sami’s Bakery

Picture a delicious summer grillin’… hot dogs, bbq chicken, and hamburgers. I love burgers, especially my dad’s. But he doesn’t just make them in summer, he makes them during any season. Yes even in winter. How can I enjoy one without a bun? To solve that I ordered the hamburger buns. I tried one with a hot dog sliced up into itm totally delicious. Remember the hotdurger?

Millet and Flax Herbed Croutons by Sami’s BakeryI got these croutons because I’m just the type that needs crunch on a salad. And no, I can’t do nuts or seeds. It’s just not the same to me! The stats for these are pretty awesome and they taste good too! They have eight calories for six croutons. Pretty awesome huh? I only like to sprinkle a few anyways, so by the time I make my dinner, I already burned those calories. Maybe? Maybe not…

Gluten Free Blueberry Muffins by Sami’s BakeryOh my gosh, if these weren’t shipped all the way from Florida and shipping wasn’t $13.00, I would have eaten all four in one sitting. These muffins are the BEST thing I have ever eaten. Can you believe I just said that? It’s not even chocolate. I was only going to eat half of one as dessert, but I ended up eating the whole thing. I had to freeze them ASAP, or else it would have been not “Nutritiously Sweet.”

So which are my top three favorites?

  • Gluten Free Blueberry Muffins
  • Millet and Flax Pizza Crust
  • Millet and Flax Sliced Bread

Note to self… save money and by more blueberry muffins. Scratch that, make it a million muffins!
